Orange Youth Services is tackling the critical issue of digital media's impact on children with a special screening of the documentary "Screenagers: Growing Up in the Digital Age" (Elementary School Age Edition). The event, designed to equip families with the tools and knowledge to navigate the digital world, will take place on Wednesday, March 12, 2025 at Peck Place School, 500 Peck Lane, Orange, CT.

The evening begins with dinner at 6:00 PM, followed by the film screening and a discussion that will conclude around 8:00 PM. This event is free and open to all members of the community, but advance registration is requested by March 5, 2025.

"Screenagers" explores the challenges and potential solutions for raising children in an age dominated by technology. The film delves into the complexities of balancing screen time with healthy development, addressing topics such as social media, gaming, and the impact on mental health.

A discussion will follow the screening, co-facilitated by Diane Downey, Social Worker with Orange Public Schools, and Chantelle Bunnell, Orange Youth Services and Prevention Coordinator. This interactive session will provide an opportunity for parents and caregivers to share their experiences, ask questions, and gain valuable insights from experts.

Important Note: This screening is intended for adults only. Please do not bring children to the screening.

Childcare Options Available: For parents who require childcare, Orange Youth Services Teen Representatives will be hosting care for children ages 5 and up. Please RSVP for childcare when registering for the event.

This vital program is presented by Orange Youth Services in partnership with the Orange Drug & Alcohol Action Committee (ODAAC) and aligns with their commitment to supporting youth health and well-being.
