It’s amazing what you can find on a beach. About 50 members of an Orange synagogue picked up a watch, a hotel key, a paring knife, sunglasses and even a pair of shorts as they scoured Woodmont Beach Sunday as part of their fourth annual beach cleanup.

Congregation Or Shalom is pleased to announce the appointment of Rabbi Lindsey Healey-Pollack as its new rabbi. She previously served as rabbi of Congregation Kol HaNeshamah in Englewood, NJ. She also was an educator and program coordinator for the Introduction to Judaism program at Town and Village


BEKI’s traditional Eicha service will be held Saturday night, Aug. 2. Eicha will be repeated with shacharit on Sunday morning, Aug. 3. Three presentations by congregants will follow. Bruce Spierer will speak on “Acceptance, Grief, and the Possibility for Renewal: Tisha B'Av as a Spiritual Practice.”

Congregations of Orange Collaborative and our Muslim members are having a free vegetarian youth dinner. It is for kids aged around 12-18. The purpose is for teens of all faiths to meet, interact and learn about different religions. There will be a short video on Ramadan, and games the kids will
