Orange Youth Services Equips Police with Drug Education Board
Orange Youth Services has proudly announced the purchase of a drug board for the Orange Police Department as part of its ongoing commitment to addressing substance abuse and promoting community well-being. The board was purchased through prevention funding through the State of Connecticut Opioid Response Grant.
This collaboration underscores the shared dedication of both organizations to supporting the youth of Orange and their families by providing resources and tools to enhance education, prevention, and intervention efforts.
The drug board, a visual and interactive educational tool, will serve as a key resource in Orange Youth Services' outreach programs. By illustrating the dangers of substance misuse and the impact on individuals and communities, the board will empower educators, counselors, and youth advocates to foster meaningful conversations about drug prevention and healthy decision-making.
"We are thrilled to partner with the Orange Police Department to bring this valuable tool to our programs," said Chantelle Bunnell, Youth Services and Local Prevention Coordinator. "This initiative is a testament to our shared commitment to safeguarding the future of our youth and fostering a healthier community."
The Orange Police Department, which has long championed substance abuse prevention and education, expressed its enthusiasm for the continued use of the drug board in the community. The drug board will be incorporated into upcoming workshops, school presentations, and community events, allowing Orange Police Department and Youth Services to reach a broader audience with impactful, evidence-based messaging.
