Free Naloxone Training: Learn to Save a Life in 30 Minutes

A crucial opportunity to learn life-saving skills is being offered to the community through a Free 30-Minute Community-Wide and In-Person Naloxone Training. This vital training will equip participants with the knowledge and confidence to recognize and respond to opioid overdoses.
The brief but impactful 30-minute session will cover several key areas, ensuring attendees leave with a comprehensive understanding of this critical issue. Participants will learn to:
- Recognize the signs of an opioid overdose. This includes identifying telltale symptoms that indicate someone is experiencing a life-threatening situation.
- How to administer Naloxone. This training will provide step-by-step instructions on the proper use of Naloxone, a medication that can rapidly reverse the effects of an opioid overdose.
- Rapidly reverse opioid overdose. Participants will understand how Naloxone works and its effectiveness in restoring breathing and consciousness during an overdose.
- Better understand the opioid crisis nationally and in CT. The training will provide context on the broader opioid epidemic, including its impact on the local community in Connecticut.

The next training session is scheduled for May 19, 2025 at 12:00 PM at the Senior Lounge in the High Plains Community Center.
