Obituary: Roberta Hurlburt
Roberta (Sloatman) Hurlburt, 94, longtime former resident of Orange, passed away peacefully at her home in Windsor, Vermont on July 18, 2023. While living in Orange, she was an active member of the Orange Congregational Church, and the Orange Arts and Crafts Guild. Roberta was a well-loved substitute teacher in the Orange elementary schools throughout the 1970s, ‘80s and ‘90s. Roberta is survived by her husband, Thomas Hurlburt of Windsor, Vermont; children Cynthia Hurlburt Hale (David) of Hartland, Vermont, Jeffrey Hurlburt of Plymouth, Vermont and Russell Hurlburt (Abigail) of Plymouth; grandchildren, Cal and Silvia Hale; and her siblings, Charles Sloatman, of South Portland, Maine, and Esther (Sloatman) Barto, of Clinton, Connecticut, as well as several nieces and nephews.
