Obituary: Doris Evelyn (Walters) Bazley

Doris Evelyn (Walters) Bazley, 93, of Naples, FL passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 20, 2023 surrounded by her family.

Doris was born July 15, 1930. After graduating from Shelton High School, she attended Stone Academy. Doris married William J. Bazley, Sr. on October 18, 1952. They operated G.H. Walters Co, a wire forming business, in Shelton, CT.

Doris and Bill enjoyed belonging to the Connecticut Historical Automobile Society. Doris also belonged to the Orange Firehouse Women’s Auxiliary, was a Sunday School teacher, and a scout leader. Doris and Bill traveled to Germany, England, Canada, and Bermuda.

Doris Bazley is survived by her husband of 71 years of marriage. She is also survived by her three children, Sharon Brenneman (Bill), William J. Bazley, Jr. (Christy), and Lynne Dorman (Andy). Doris has nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

A memorial service was  held on Friday, Dec. 29, 2023 at Jenkins-King Funeral Home, 12 Franklin St., Ansonia, CT. Calling hours were from 10am-noon followed by the service and procession to Riverside Cemetery, 308 River Rd., Shelton, CT.
