In the sky above our head, there are wonders too numerous to count. But what could we choose as the seven most remarkable objects visible, either with just our eyes or with a simple pair of binoculars or a small telescope? Seven objects which we might call “The Seven Wonders of the Universe.” Joe Rao was Chief Meteorologist for News 12 Westchester for 21 years, garnering 8 Emmy Nominations. Take and Make: St. Patrick's Day Candy Marshmallow Lollipops
March 11-16
Celebrate St. Patrick's Day with a tasty sweet! You'll need bowls, spoons, a microwave, and wax paper or a similar non-stick surface. We'll provide green candy melts, marshmallows, lollipop sticks, and special sprinkles. This take and make is available on a first come, first served basis while supplies last.
Make & Take Workshop: Pysanky
Monday, March 11, 7 p.m.
Turn an egg into a work of art using a wax resist method similar to batik in this beginner's pysanky workshop with Librarian Rebecca Harlow. Participants will be provided all supplies, tools, and instructions needed to make their own beautiful Ukrainian Easter egg. This workshop will use candles, beeswax, chicken eggs, and permanent dyes.

The Bookcase Evening Discussion Group

Dungeons & Dragons: Teen Group
Saturday, March 23, 2:30 p.m.
Go on adventures! Fight monsters! Save the world! Claim loot! Dungeons & Dragons is a cooperative, storytelling tabletop roleplaying game where you and other players take on the roles of different characters within a fantasy story. This program runs monthly. Drop-ins are welcome and strongly encouraged to bring a LEVEL 3 character sheet (in the event that a player does not have one, a premade character sheet will be provided). Minimal knowledge of D&D gameplay is required for this session. Please note: This is a continuation of a prior session.

Ban This Book Club!

Join Librarian Rebecca Harlow for a discussion of Storm and Fury by Jennifer L. Armentrout. Police were called after a teen checked out Storm and Fury from their high school library in Florida. The activists who filed the report called the novel "pornography" and reported that the librarian had committed a third-degree felony. Join us as we discuss this as a work of literature as well as an object of censorship.
