Cho's Elite Taekwondo Students Bring Home 12 Medals from International Taekwondo Tournament

On March 2, 2024, four students from Cho’s Elite Taekwondo School in Orange, CT traveled to Basking Ridge, NJ to compete in the International KTL Taekwondo Championship.  The students competed in front of thousands of Taekwondo practitioners, coaches, referees and supporters, some coming from as far as South Korea to participate.

Coached by Grandmaster Youngkuk Cho and assisted by 2nd dan Black Belt Keifer Cooper (age 16); Orange residents Duncan Theiss (age 13), Aiden Ku (age 7), Caleb Woodard (age 8), and Letian Li (age 8) each returned from the event with medals in every event they competed in.  The students each competed three events, Poomsai, Board-Breaking, and Sparring.  The Poomsai/Form event is judged on accuracy, technique and confidence.  Board-Breaking is judged on form, technique, confidence and showmanship.  Sparring consists of three 60-second, point-based rounds.  The students returned to Orange with 8 Gold medals, 3 Silver medals and 1 Bronze medal between them.
