Orange student Molly Kovar was recently honored as a winner in the 19th Annual eesmarts ™ Student Contest. Presented by Energize Connecticut℠ in partnership with Eversource and Avangrid subsidiaries, United Illuminating, Southern Connecticut Gas and Connecticut Natural Gas, the eesmarts


Anna Varholak, a member of Stonehill College’s Class of 2026 from Orange, CT, was recently honored at the institution’s Student Life Awards, held Sunday, April 28, 2024. Each year, this program celebrates campus community members for their outstanding contributions to the betterment of Stonehill.


Many of us were deeply saddened by the passing of our beloved classmate and class president, Francis J. Erba (Fran). In his memory, a group of classmates is proposing the creation of the Francis J. Erba Scholarship Fund.


Amity Regional School District #5, as per state guidelines, is properly disposing of student special education records. The records of any student who has received special services are maintained for six years after their class graduates.


On April 8, 2024, the Amity Board of Education held its District Public Budget Hearing. Superintendent Byars presented a brief overview of the 2024-2025 budget. Riley Palazzo of Orange, Connecticut, was recently initiated into The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi, the nation’s oldest and most selective all-discipline collegiate honor society. Palazzo was initiated at the University of Maine.


Amity Middle School Orange 8th grade students and teachers recently sponsored their annual Ray's Box of Socks collection. Socks were collected at all Amity Regional No 5 schools, plus the Racebrook elementary school and the Goddard school. Through their combined efforts, 1,779 pairs of socks


Connecticut author and storyteller Matthew Dicks will visit the Amity Regional High School library next week to present two master classes in the art of storytelling.


Emilia Steinbrick of Orange, CT, was recently initiated into The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi, the nation’s oldest and most selective all-discipline collegiate honor society. Steinbrick was initiated at Sacred Heart University.
