The Orange Historical Society has several events scheduled for the coming weeks.

During the weekend of July 15-16 at Wepawaug Conservation area, we had a group of scouts all working together to clean up and spread new mulch at the entrance: Girl Scout Troop 60274, Girl Scout Troop 60162, Boy Scout troop 41, Boy Scout Troop 907, and Cub Scout Den 5 pack 922.


Orange resident Alex Beck, his three sons, and more than 200 other attendees were guests at the recent Farewell to Summer 2023 Picnic – hosted at Riverside Park in Portland by Big Brothers Big Sisters of Connecticut. Beck is a veteran member of the Board of Directors at Big Brothers Big Sisters.

The Garden Club of Orange will kick off the new year on September 12 at High Plains Community Center, Rooms 4-6 with “Arts and Flowers”. Club member Lana Ho will create several floral designs inspired by contemporary art. The program begins at 1 PM and is open to the public.


Kara Lightowler is one of 32 brave women that will be participating in a cancer fundraising event called Belles of the Brawl. Haymakers for Hope sponsors this national event that takes place in six cities throughout the United States. Kara will be in an amateur boxing fight on October 12th raising


Many people and families from Connecticut enjoy vacations in Jamaica, visiting the beautiful beaches in well-known resort areas like Ocho Rios, Negril, and Montego Bay. For one family from Orange and a group of their friends, an upcoming trip to this Caribbean Island will have a different focus.


As we bounce around from one part of our lives to another, we may or may not visit with family members, especially if they live many miles away. A small staff of the Orange Historical Society has made it their mission to find those members of the town who helped make it a town, but are only known


It's officially June: the days are getting longer and its almost time for this troop to go camping! Troop 60274 is officially wrapping up its first year as Cadette level girl scouts. I am very proud of the work they put in these past few months especially. We completed several badges including:
