Dean’s/President’s List
Curry College
Milton, MA – Henry Colby of Orange, CT has been named to the Dean’s List for the Spring 2023 semester. Full-time students who carry 12 or more graded credits in the Fall or Spring semester, earn at least a 3.30 semester GPA, and have no grade lower than a “C” and no incompletes in the semester qualify for the Dean’s List.
Fairfield University
Fairfield, CT - The following Fairfield University students from Orange, CT received Dean’s List Honors for the Spring 2023 semester: Hadley C. Boguniecki, Emma F. DelVecchio, Mary L. Foley, Dominick J. Lombardi, Payton H. Rahn, Miles C. Turner, and Rose G. Wegman. In order to be placed on the Dean’s List, students must have completed a minimum of 12 credit hours in a semester, have no outstanding or incomplete grades for that semester, and have attained a semester grade point average of 3.50 or better.
Goodwin University
East Hartford, CT - Carolyn Push, from Orange, CT, has earned a spot on the Goodwin University Dean’s List for Spring 2023 as well as the President’s List for Spring 2023. Dean’s List inclusion requires a student to earn a minimum 3.5 GPA, the equivalent of an A- average, during a given academic session. The student must also be enrolled in a minimum of six academic credits to qualify. Carolyn’s inclusion in the President’s List came about due to her score of a perfect 4.0 GPA. Goodwin University congratulates Carolyn on making the Dean’s List and demonstrating such a high standard of excellence in the classroom and beyond!
Hofstra University
Hempstead, NY - Kayley Mingione of Orange excelled during the Spring 2023 semester at Hofstra, achieving a GPA of at least 3.5 to earn a spot on the Dean’s List. Kayley’s major is Psychology.
James Madison University
Harrisonburg, VA - Orange resident, Brynn Weirsman, has been named to the Dean’s List at James Madison University for the spring 2023 semester. Students who earn dean’s list honors must carry at least 12 graded credit hours and earn a GPA of between 3.5 and 3.899. Weirsman is majoring in Architectural Design - BFA.
Lehigh University
Bethlehem, PA – Dean’s List status, which is awarded to students who earned a scholastic average of 3.6 or better while carrying at least 12 hours of regularly graded courses, has been granted to Spencer Shepard in the Spring 2023 semester.
Mars Hill University
Mars Hill, NC - Alexander Oleschuk of Orange is one of 332 Mars Hill University students named on the Honor Roll of the Academic Dean at the end of the spring 2023 semester. To qualify for the Dean’s List, students must earn a grade-point average of 3.5 on a minimum of 12 semester hours, and carry no grade below a C.
Providence College
Providence, RI - Meredyth Laskowski (Amity class of 2022) of Orange, CT was named to the Fall 2022 and Spring 2023 Dean’s List at Providence College. Dean’s List honors are earned by full-time undergraduate students who, at the end of the semester, have attained a GPA of 3.55 or better (on a 4.0 scale), with no grade lower than “C,” and with no incomplete grades (“I” or “NM”). Part-time students in the School of Continuing Education must be in good academic standing (defined as a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or above) and, at the end of the spring semester term, have attained an average of 3.25 or higher with no grade less than “C.” They also must have carried a minimum of nine credit hours during that semester and be enrolled in a degree program.
Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute
Troy, NY - The following Orange students have made the Dean’s Honor List for the Spring 2023 semester at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, New York: Luke Hauser is studying Economics; Arianna Pargen is studying Games & Simulation Arts & Sci; and Sebastian Todeasa is studying Physics.
Sacred Heart University
Fairfield, CT - Nolan Young of Orange was named to the Dean’s List of Sacred Heart University. A student completing a minimum of six credits with a GPA of 3.6 or better is eligible for the Dean’s List. Nolan is a Nursing major and a Theater Arts minor.
Siena College
Loudonville, NY - Juliana Amici has been named to the Siena College Dean’s List for the Spring 2023 semester. Amici is from Orange, CT. To be named to the Dean’s List, a student’s grade point average for the semester must be between 3.5 and 3.89.
Springfield College
Springfield, MA - Springfield College recognizes the following Orange students for being named to the Dean’s List for academic excellence for the 2023 spring semester: Molly Blair, primary major of Health Sci / Pre-OT; Keira Droney, primary major of Art & Design; Gillian Fuchs, primary major of Health Sci / Pre-OT; Lauren Ronai, primary major of Health Sci/Pre-PA. The criteria for selection to the Dean’s List are: The student must have completed a minimum of 12 credit hours of graded coursework for the term, exclusive of “P” grades. The student must not have any incompletes or missing grades in the designated term. The student must have a minimum semester grade average of 3.500 for the term.
Stonehill College
Easton, MA - The following Orange students were among nearly 1,000 students named to the Spring 2023 Dean’s List at Stonehill College: Colton Varholak, Marissa Dwyer, and Anna Varholak. To qualify for the Dean’s List, students must have a semester grade point average of 3.50 or better and must have successfully completed all courses for which they were registered.
University of Alabama
Tuscaloosa, AL – Ryan Gunning was named to The University of Alabama President’s List for fall semester 2022. A total of 12,791 students enrolled during Fall Semester 2022 at The University of Alabama were named to the dean’s list with an academic record of 3.5 (or above) or the president’s list with an academic record of 4.0 (all A’s). The UA dean’s and president’s lists recognize full-time undergraduate students.
Worcester Polytechnic Institute
Worcester, MA - A total of 2,054 undergraduate students achieved the criteria required for WPI’s spring 2023 Dean’s List. The criteria for the WPI Dean’s List differs from that of most other universities as WPI does not compute a grade point average (GPA). Instead, WPI defines the Dean’s List by the amount of work completed at the A level in courses and projects. The following Orange students were on the Dean’s List for Spring 2023: Natalie Carrington, class of 2025, majoring in Mechanical Engineering;Amir Jarad, class of 2026, majoring in Industrial Engineering; Kelly Pritchard, class of 2025, majoring in Aerospace Engineering; Evan Russell, class of 2024, majoring in Aerospace Engineering; and Stephen Stardellis, class of 2026, majoring in Computer Science.
Graduations
Fairfield University
Fairfield, CT - The following Fairfield University students from Orange graduated from Fairfield University, May 2023: Michael Bier, Mary Foley, Michael Holloway, Haley Kober and Jared Smith. At the time of graduation, a student must have earned a minimum of 120 credits and completed at least 38 three- or four-credit courses, depending on the course of study, and have an overall grade point average of 2.0 or better at the conclusion of the senior year.
James Madison University
Harrisonburg, VA - Daniel Chodos of Orange graduated with a degree in Sport and Recreation Leadership - MS from James Madison University during commencement exercises in May 2023. Chodos was among more than 4,200 students who received undergraduate and graduate degrees. Congratulations to all graduates and their families!
Quinnipiac University
Hamden, CT - The following Orange students received degrees from Quinnipiac University during commencement ceremonies held in May: Hilde Gehr, Master of Arts in Teaching Elementary Education; Chloe Gherlone, Bachelor of Science, Psychology; Adriana Lebowitz, Doctor of Medicine; and Napoleon Stardellis, Bachelor of Science, Mechanical Engineering.
Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute
Troy, NY - On May 20, 2023, Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) awarded a total of 1,988 degrees - 152 doctoral degrees, 390 master’s degrees, and 1,446 bachelor’s degrees - to 1,957 students, some of whom earned multiple degrees. The following local student earned degrees: Arianna Pargen, of Orange, graduated with a BS in Games & Simulation Arts & Science.
Stonehill College
Easton, MA - Colton Varholak of Orange, CT, was among 548 students to process at Stonehill College’s 72nd Commencement on Sunday, May 21, 2023.
Wilkes University
Wilkes-Barre, PA - Andrea Delvecchio of Orange, CT, received a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Wilkes University. The degree was one of over 650 bachelor's, master's and doctoral degrees at its 76th spring commencement ceremonies on May 20 in the McHale Athletic Center in the Simms Center on Main, 169 S. Main Street in Wilkes-Barre.
