Obituary: Richard L. Zambarano
Richard L. Zambarano of Woodbridge and Orange Connecticut died at home surrounded by family, after a wonderful life of 93 years. He is survived by his wife Pauli, five children Michael (wife Beverly, children Sierra, Zack, and Heather), Bob (wife Susan Ansorge, children Ellie and Paulo), Joe (partner Loretta Hanvey, children Antonia and Willa Brown), Lori (husband Randy Harris, children Sam and Katherine Lutfy), Jim (wife Pam, children Grace and Jackson), and his sister Sandi Griffin.
Richard was born in Providence, RI. He attended elementary and high schools in Cranston, RI, then received a BS in Chemical Engineering from the University of Rhode Island. He later received an MBA from American International College. He served with the US Army in Korea attaining the rank of First Lieutenant and was a Company Commander.
After military service he worked in managerial positions for several Chemical and Plastics Companies - most notably, Monsanto Chemical Company, Massachusetts Plastics Company, Novacor Chemicals Inc., Polysar and The Richardson Polymer Corporation where he was President and CEO.
He retired in 1992 then worked as a consultant for many years. He was an officer of The Woodbridge Club, The Woodbridge Park Association, and the New Haven Yacht Club and a lifetime member of the Appalachian Mountain club. His passion was his family, enjoyed baking bread, was an avid sailor, and loved biking and hiking particularly in the White Mountains.
Family and Friends are invited to gather on Saturday, August 24, 2024 from 10am to 2pm at Cody-White Funeral Home 107 Broad St., Milford, CT 06460. Interment will be private.
