Town OKs New Fire Truck

Town OKs New Fire Truck

The Orange Volunteer Fire Department will soon have a new, $859,207, state-of-the-art Spartan fire truck with six ladders and a 1,500 gallon pump.  The new truck will replace the 1978 open cab fire truck which is no longer compliant and in need of repair.  The new truck will be delivered in December.

Just to be clear, the town has no financial obligations regarding the purchase of this apparatus. The Fire Association is the organization who bears the full financial responsibility. The discussion and presentation at the Board of Selectmen meeting was to meet criteria requiring a public hearing in order to use the finance opportunity we chose.
