On Friday, May 1 the Town of Orange unveiled the Town’s new Veterans’ Wall. The wall honors 99 living residents of Orange who have served in the United States Armed Services during times of conflict. Guest speakers included US Senator Richard Blumenthal, US Senator Christopher Murphy, and First Selectman James Zeoli. The wall which is made up of the seals of the 6 different branches of service, a digital scrolling picture frame of each of the veterans who have submitted registration forms, and an American flag that has flown on the USS Nautilus. The wall can be viewed in the front foyer of the High Plains Community Services during normal business hours. The planning committee was made up of Wayne Rioux of Vitas Hospice, Phil Grande & Rich Cenami of American Legion Post 127, Maria Biondi of the Orange Visiting Nurses Association, Kelly Souder & Miguel Rodriguez of the Veterans Center, Liz Castiline of Maplewood of Orange, and Joan Cretella & Dennis Marsh of Orange Community Services.
