We are pleased to announce the First Church of Christ Woodbridge schedule of services and events for the Lenten Season and Holy Week and invite everyone in the community to join us at 5 Meeting House Lane. Our Easter Sunday 10 a.m. service will feature special music from our Senior Choir and Bell Choir, both under the leadership of Faye Chen, and from our organist Nenad Ivovic.
Lenten Bible Study Series – Wednesdays thru March 21, from 6- 7:30 p.m. in the Parish House. We begin with a light supper of soup & bread at 6, followed by Bible study at 6:30. You are invited to attend all or part of the series.
Holy Week Services: In the Meeting House except as noted.
Palm Sunday Worship Service – March 25 – 10 a.m. Through readings and symbols we will walk with Jesus from his triumphal entry into Jerusalem to his crucifixion.
Maundy Thursday Service of Tenebrae – March 29 – 7 p.m. We will commemorate the Last Supper with communion and the service of the shadows.
Good Friday – Meditation and Readings – March 30 – 10 a.m. – Noon. People are invited to quietly come and go as you please.
Easter Sunrise Service – April 1 -6:30 a.m. on the Church Green. A breakfast follows in the Parish House.
Easter Sunday Worship Service – 10 a.m. with glorious music, communion, and the proclamation of the Good News of Jesus’ Resurrection.
We also invite all members of the community to join us for our regularly scheduled services and events:
Sunday Services – 10 a.m. including our Intergenerational Service the first Sunday of each month. Nursery care for small children is available during the Sunday services.
Church School – Sunday at 10 a.m. the second through fifth Sundays during the school year with lessons based on the Lectionary.
Confirmation Class for children in 7th – 9th grades will meet in March on Sunday the 25th following worship. The class will focus on Holy Week.
Middle School Youth Group for 5th – 8th graders will meet on in March on Sunday the 11th following worship.
Weekly Bible Study – Wednesdays, 10-11 a.m. in the Parish House. We study both Old and New Testament passages based on the Lectionary.
