Dean’s List

Adelphi University

Garden City, NY—Daejin Kim of Orange has been named to the Adelphi University spring 2019 Dean’s List.  Kim was among a select group of outstanding students named to the spring 2019 Dean’s List.  The Dean’s List comprises full-time students-registered for 12 or more credits-who have completed at least 9 graded credits and achieved a GPA of 3.5 or above for the semester.  This recognition becomes part of the student’s academic record and is entered into the individual’s transcript.

Brandeis University

Waltham, MA—Zachary O. Katz of Woodbridge was named to the Dean’s List for the Fall 2018 and Spring 2019 semesters at Brandeis University in Waltham, Mass.  The Dean’s List is an academic honor awarded to students who achieved a semester GPA of 3.50 or higher on a 4.0 scale, completed a minimum of three courses for a letter grade and received a grade of C or higher in all courses.  Katz is the son of Marni and Stuart Katz and a 2018 graduate of Amity Regional High School.

Lewis University

Romeoville, Ill – Yusuf Ahmad of Orange, CT, was named to Lewis University’s Dean’s List for the 2019 Spring Semester.  Ahmad is studying Biology at Lewis University.  More than 1,500 students were honored on the Lewis University Dean’s List for the 2019 Spring Semester.  To be eligible for this honor, students must have completed a minimum of 12 credit hours during the semester with a grade point average of at least 3.5 and with no “D” or “F” grades.

Union College

Schenectady, NY—Griffin Smith, of Orange, CT, was named to the 2019 Dean’s List at Union College.  Smith is a member of the Class of 2019, majoring in Economics.  Comprised annually, the Union College Dean’s List honors students who have a grade point average of 3.5 for the entire academic year and meet certain other requirements.

University of Pittsburg

Andrew J. Lipsitz of Orange, graduate of Amity High School, class of 2016, was noted as achieving requirements for being added to the Dean’s List for spring semester of 2019 at the University of Pittsburgh, Dietrich School of Arts & Sciences.  This requires a GPA of at least 3.5 and no grade lower than a C.


Roger Williams University

Bristol, RI—Roger Williams University is proud to announce that Michael Montano, of Orange, CT, graduated with a B.S. in Architecture in May as part of the Class of 2019.

Southern Connecticut State University

University of Rhode Island

Kingston, RI—At the University of Rhode Island’s 133rd Commencement on Saturday and Sunday, May 18-19, 2019, about 3,400 undergraduate and 740 graduate students became the University’s newest alumni.  The following students from Orange graduated from the University of Rhode Island:  Christian Cerrone received a Bachelor of Science in Aquaculture and Fishery Technology; and Julia Forbes received a Bachelor of Science Textiles, Fashion Merchandising and Design Bachelor of Arts French Magna Cum Laude.

Jarod Tashea of Orange (06477), received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, Accounting Magna Cum Laude

Students who received the honor summa cum laude graduated with a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of at least 3.7; students who received the honor of magna cum laude graduated with a GPA of at least 3.50; and students who received the honor of cum laude graduated with a GPA of at least 3.3.
