Kutztown University

Kutztown, PA—Danielle Nordyk of Orange, CT, is one of 20 student-athletes on the 2019 Kutztown University softball team.

Dean’s List

Brandeis University.

The Brandeis University School of Arts and Sciences has placed Rachel Marcus on the Fall 2018 Dean’s List in recognition of her fine academic performance.

Bryant University

Smithfield, RI—Bryant University is committed to the pursuit, recognition, and celebration of academic success.  Young-Jin Park, class of 2019, from Orange, CT, has been named to Bryant University’s Deans’ List for the fall 2018 semester.

Connecticut College

New London, CT – Connecticut College is pleased to announce that Jenna Ortoleva of Orange has received Dean’s High Honors for the Fall 2018 semester.  In addition to maintaining her 4.0 GPA, Ms. Ortoleva is also a member of Connecticut College’s Science Leaders as well as a selected Presidential Scholar.

Fairfield University

Fairfield, CT – The following Fairfield University students from Orange received Dean’s List Honors for the Fall 2018 semester:  Cassandra Bishop; Thomas Boutros; Taylor Choe; Michael Holloway; Christina Judd; Alec Melotto; Helen Ruckes; Jesse Sachs; and Christina Skerritt.  In order to be placed on the Dean’s List, students must have completed a minimum of 12 credit hours in a semester, have no outstanding or incomplete grades for that semester, and have attained a semester grade point average of 3.50 or better.

Lynn University

Boca Raton, FL – Alyssa Mencucci has been named to the Lynn University’s Dean’s List for Fall 2018.  She is currently a freshman there.  She received a 3.7 grade point average and is a Psychology major; parents are John and Patricia Mencucci of Orange.

Michigan State University

East Lansing, MI – Brian Curtin, a resident of Orange, CT, and a member of the Class of 2022, has been named to the Michigan State University Dean’s List for the Fall 2018 semester.  To qualify for the Dean’s List, students must achieve at least a 3.55 grade point average with a minimum of 12 credits.

Rochester Institute of Technology

Rochester, NY—Micaela Nelson of Orange was named to the Dean’s List at Rochester Institute of Technology for the 2018 Fall Semester.  Nelson is in the biomedical sciences program.  Degree-seeking undergraduate students are eligible for Dean’s List if their term GPA is greater than or equal to 3.400; they do not have any grades of “Incomplete”, “D” or “F”; and they have registered for, and completed, at least 12 credit hours.

Springfield College

Springfield, MA—The following Orange Springfield College students were named to the Dean’s List for academic excellence for the fall 2018 term:  Ashlyn Gallo, studying Health Science and Pre-Physical Therapy; and Emily Mullins, Health Science/Occupational Therapy.  Criteria for selection to the dean’s list requires that the student must have a minimum semester grade point average of 3.500 for the semester.

Tufts University

Medford/Somerville, MA—Tufts University recently announced the dean’s list for the Fall 2018 semester.  The following Woodbridge students earning dean’s list honors are:  Benjamin Ewing , Jacob Gross, Arpita Jajoo, Emma Lampropoulos, Henry Molot, Madeline Tein, and Daniel Zackin.  Dean’s list honors at Tufts University require a semester grade point average of 3.4 or greater.

University of the Sciences

Philadelphia, PA—Jillian Ball has been named to the Fall 2018 Dean’s List at University of the Sciences.  Selection for this award is based on completing and passing all assigned courses with no grade below a “C” and attaining an academic average of at least 3.4 for courses taken in the fall of 2018.  Ball of Orange, CT, is a Doctor of Occupational Therapy student.

Washington University In St. Louis

St. Louis, MO – Erin Barillier of Orange, CT, was named to the Dean’s List for the fall 2018 semester at Washington University in St. Louis.  Barillier is enrolled in the university’s College of Arts & Sciences.  To qualify for the Dean’s List in the College of Arts & Sciences, students must earn a semester grade point average of 3.6 or above and be enrolled in at least 14 graded units.

Western Connecticut State University

Danbury, CT — The following Orange students have been named to the Dean’s List for the fall 2018 semester at Western Connecticut State University:  Jordan D’Onofrio, Exploratory Studies; Jacquelyn Nelson, Communication; Rebecca Norton, Biology; Jenna Pisano, Elementary Education; Ryan Rappaport, Musical Theatre.

Graduations

Hofstra University

Hempstead, NY—Beth Backer of Orange, CT graduated from Hofstra University in December 2018, earning a Master of Science in Occupational Therapy.

University of New Haven

West Haven, CT – The following Orange students received degrees from the University of New Haven at Commencement ceremonies in December:  Hazim Ali Naji Alamiri Aljohani, Tagliatela College of Engineering, Bachelor of Science in General Engineering; Jessica Esposito, Henry C. Lee College of Criminal Justice and Forensic Sciences, Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice with a concentration in Correctional Administration; Amanda Hudson, College of Business, Bachelor of Science in Accounting; Anthony Peterson, Henry C. Lee College of Criminal Justice and Forensic Sciences, Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice with a concentration in Crime Analysis; and Kimberly Simone, Henry C. Lee College of Criminal Justice and Forensic Sciences, Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice with a concentration in Law Enforcement Administration.

Honor Roll

Notre Dame High School

West Haven, CT—Notre Dame High School of West Haven President Mr. Robert Curis and Vice President for Student Success, Mr. Joseph A. Ramirez, announced the honor roll for the Second Quarter of the 2018-19 academic year.  The Honor Roll is based on Second Quarter final grades which ran from Monday, October 22, 2018 through Monday, January 14, 2019.  First honors indicate an average of 90 or better; Second honors indicate an average of 85-89.999.  Those from Orange attaining First Honors are:  Class of 2019 – Steven Ayala, Colton Varholak; Class of 2021 – Dohyeon (Steven) Yeo.  Those from Orange attaining Second Honors are:  Class of 2019 – Kamron Bell, Sean Nusdeo, and Ruichao (Tony) Shen; Class of 2021 – Nicholas Richetelli; Class of 2022 – Dylan Ekstrand, and Alan Lopez.

Sacred Heart Academy

Sacred Heart Academy Principal Sr. Kathleen Mary Coonan, ASCJ has announced the Honor Roll for the First Semester of the 2018– 19 academic year.  The following students from Orange have been named to the Honor Roll:  HIGH HONORS – Xiaoxiao Long and Brittney Meneses; HONORS – Yiran Wang.  Academic honors are awarded at the end of each semester to students attaining an average of 3.5 or better.  Those students achieving a grade point average of 3.8 or greater are awarded high honors.
