Save the date and get ready for a fun filled day. Amity Animal Rescue Fund, (AARF), is holding a “Strutt Your Mutt for AARF” on Saturday, June 4th from 11 – 2 PM at the Orange fairgrounds on Orange Center Road. There will be dog costume competitions with awards for the most creative costumes in several categories. There will also be awards for dogs with the longest tail, shortest ears and more. No event would be complete without a dog parade and there will be a “Strutt” around the fairgrounds walking path.
Enjoy great food from area vendors, wonderful live music supplied by The Hypnosis, fabulous raffles, and informational tables where you can pick up tips on animal care. ‘Boucin City’ will be on hand with inflatables for the kids to enjoy.
TV weather personality Scot Haney will be joining the festivities at 11:15 to kick off the “Strutt”. Orange First Selectman Jim Zeoli will stop by to say hello to attendees.
AARF is an all-volunteer, 501c3 nonprofit organization that has a trap/neuter/release program for feral cats, sponsors discounted rabies and microchip clinics for animals during the year, distributes food to animals in homes with limited funds and helps the local shelter try and find forever homes for adoptable animals in our community.
For your dog’s safety, all dogs attending the “Strutt” must be on leash, licensed and current on their rabies shots. No dogs in heat or younger than 6 months of age. There will be water at various locations at the fairgrounds; however, AARF suggests you also bring water for your dog. Please, only bring dogs who are friendly to people and other animals.
The cost to “Strutt Your Mutt for AARF” is $15.00 for the first dog, and $5.00 for each additional dog you bring. All dog registrants will receive a gift.
