The Board of Education has named Dr. Evelyn Russo the new Director of Curriculum, Instruction, and Personnel for the Orange Public Schools. Russo holds a doctorate in curriculum and instruction with a specialization in bilingual and bicultural studies from the University of Connecticut and has also received an educational leadership degree and a Master’s degree from UCONN.
Russo has advanced through her educational career as an elementary school teacher, consultant, building administrator and central office administrator. She recently served as K-12 English Language Arts Instructional Specialist for Norwalk Public Schools.
“We are very fortunate to have Dr. Russo join our team in Orange and during the next few weeks, we will plan for her transition and identify dates when she will be visiting our schools,” said Superintendent of Schools Vince Scarpetti. Russo will be joining the district officially on Monday, February 29th.
“Please join me in warmly welcoming Dr. Russo to the Orange Public School District. I know that Evelyn is looking forward to focusing all her efforts on supporting Orange’s students, educators, and parents during the coming years,” Scarpetti said in a letter of introduction of Russo to the Orange community.
