Sacred Heart Senior’s Artwork On Exhibit

Crystal Long, ’19, a Chinese national being hosted by an Orange family, has earned recognition for her artwork by the Connecticut Scholastic Art Awards.  The following pieces of Crystal’s garnered awards:  Awakened, That Moment, and Serenity—Drawing and Illustration category The Young Man and The Eye—Painting category Love Cycle—Architecture & Industrial Design category.

Scholastic Art Awards, an affiliate of The Alliance for Young Artists & Writers, recognizes the work of talented young artists in Grades 7 to 12.  Student artwork is juried by professional artists and university art faculty and is selected on merit for inclusion in a statewide art exhibition held annually.  The exhibit, held at the Hartford Art School in the Silpe Gallery, runs from January 13 to February 1.

Founded in 1946 by the Apostles of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, Sacred Heart Academy successfully prepares young women in grades 9 – 12 for learning, service, and achievement in a global society.  Sacred Heart welcomes 500 students from more than 80 schools and 60 towns in Connecticut and is accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges.  Visit sacredhearthamden.org to learn more.
