From the Publisher’s Desk: End of Year 2016 Notes

From the Publisher’s Desk: End of Year 2016 Notes

It is hard for me to believe that we have completed our 11th year as “Your Hometown Newspaper”, but time sure does fly when you are having fun!  As we approach another year’s end, I would like to take this opportunity to wish a Joyous Holiday Season & Happy New Year to all of our loyal readers.  The Orange Town News has done its best to continue providing our readership within and outside of Orange, a diverse community newspaper that has something for everyone to enjoy.  We Cover Orange Exclusively!  We do not try to cram Orange & Milford content into 20 pages, but rather devote as many as 48 pages of content solely to the lives and events of this great town.

Our sister paper, the “Woodbridge Town News”, now in its 6th year, has grown as area residents have come to rely on both of our publications as their source for positive community news, events and happenings.

In 2016, the Orange Town News was once again proud to produce the Town’s largest single day event when over 8,000 people attended the Independence Day Concert and Fireworks Show.  The Montreal based “Queen Flash” rocked the Orange Fairgrounds followed by another spectacular fireworks show. Plans are already underway for the July 4th, 2017 concert & fireworks extravaganza!  (Date to be announced soon.)

I would like to commend our staff of professional writers and contributors:  Melissa Nicefaro, Laura Fantarella, Bettina Thiel, Susan Noonan, Ginny Reinhard, Roberta Nestor & Ray Spaziani.

My editor, Marlene Silverstein (who has been our editor since day one) and our production manager, Mike Kriz continue to produce top notch publications for which area residents can be proud.

In addition, the loyalty of our advertisers and their continued support through their patronage of the OTN & WTN has not gone unnoticed.  While the State & Local economies continue to suffer, we are committed to provide local businesses, large & small, an affordable means to promote their goods and services.

But most of all, my heartfelt thanks go out to the hundreds of townspeople who submit their letters, articles, photos, bulletin board events and more.  While our paper has grown to as many as 48 pages, do not worry; we will continue to make room to publish your local news and events, no matter how big or small.

In addition, readers continue to rely on our enhanced websites for our publications at www.orangetownnews.com & www.woodbridgetownnews.com.

Lastly, I would like to personally wish you all a Safe, Happy and Healthy 2017.  If you have any comments or suggestions, please always feel free to contact me at rocky@orangetownnews.com.

Sincerely,

Rocky Salperto – Publisher: Orange Town News, Woodbridge Town News

Pictured: The 2016 Town of Orange Independence Day Concert and Fireworks Show set another attendance record as the area residents packed the Orange fairgrounds to watch the performance of “Queen Flash” from Montreal, Canada which was followed by the traditional fireworks show.  Both the band and the fireworks received rave reviews and a good time was had by all.  The show was produced by Orange Town News Owner Rocky Salperto in coordination with the Town of Orange and the support of Community Sponsors including:  Yale University, Cohen & Wolf, The Orange Foundation’s Olga Fund & Regent Wealth Management Group.
