She is a practicing attorney In New Haven, specializing in workers’ compensation defense. She is a graduate of Western New England University (B.A. Government, 1982) and Western New England University School of Law (J.D, 1985). She was a multi-year president of the Amity High School PTSA and President of the Peck Place School PTA. She coordinated and ran the Amity High School Senior breakfast. She served as captain’s parent for the Amity High School Spartans’ football team. She is a member of the Orange Democratic Town Committee.
Polly feels that one of the most important issues for the Amity Board of Education is exploration of shared services/regionalization. She recognizes that this is an emotional and hot button topic deserving of a thorough study into the cost savings of shared services with Bethany and Woodbridge but also the educational benefit of having students from all three entering middle and high schools on a level playing field after being taught the same curriculum. Polly also wants to safeguard the excellence of the Amity system and reputation.
