Paul Davis has spent his lifetime working with and supporting young people. He taught science on the middle and high school levels in West Haven for thirty-four years. Coached swimming for forty years including twenty-seven at Amity High and was the founder and head coach of the Orange Program (Otters) when the pool was opened in 1975. He was an original member of the CIAC Committee on Sportsmanship; and served as a past Chair of the Amity Coaches Association.
In government, he served 10 years as your State Representative and 4 years as a member of the Orange Board of Selectmen. He was a member of the Legislative Education Committee and, by appointment of the Governor, a member of the Grade 11 Evaluation Task Force which resulted in the SAT replacing and reducing required testing. Currently he is co-chair of the State Water Safety Task Force as an appointed member of the Connecticut Commission on Women, Children, and Seniors, and serves on the Orange Foundation.
With his strong background and experience, Paul is hopeful that he can make a positive contribution to the Amity Board of Education. He was honored to have served as a State Representative and member of the Orange Board of Selectmen and would greatly appreciate your continued support of his efforts to help improve education in our community as an Amity BOE member.
