Patty C. Post and her family have been residents of Orange for 20 years. Patty has a PhD in molecular biology from the University of Pittsburgh and retired as a Professor of Biology in May of this year from Albertus Magnus College. Her husband, Albert Post, is a scientist at Unilever and treasurer of the Orange Democratic Town Committee. Patty and Al have two daughters, Emily and Elizabeth, who were educated in Orange and Amity Regional school systems. Emily is now a PhD student at the University of Utah and Elizabeth graduated in May 2019 from Mount Holyoke College.
During her 16 years at Albertus, Dr. Post served as the lead faculty member managing a $650,000 grant awarded to the college from the National Science Foundation. Under her leadership she created and implemented deep cultural changes in science education at the institution and expanded extracurricular opportunities for Albertus undergraduates. Dr. Post also mentored Amity High School students in the Science Research Program and Senior Service Learning Program.
Over the next two decades, the proportion of Orange residents aged 35-54 is projected to increase by about 30%. Patty is excited to apply her strategic skills to meet the needs of this growth.
