Orange Youth Services Events 3/9/19

**Community Event**

Stephen Hill, Speaker/Author, will be presenting on Monday, May 13th, 2019 from 7:00-8:30p.m. at High Plains Community Center in the gym.  The presentation is the story of a young man’s battle with drug addiction and journey to recovery.  This event will be sponsored by Orange Youth Services, in combination with Woodbridge and Bethany Youth Services, as well as the Milford Prevention Council.  This event will be open to all four communities.

Save a Life – FREE Narcan Training

Sponsored by Orange Youth Services, the Alliance for Prevention and Wellness will be providing a training on Wednesday, May 1st, 2019 at 6:30p.m. at High Plains Community Center in the gym.  The training will include an explanation of what Narcan is, who can be prescribed Narcan, overdose prevention strategies, signs and symptoms of overdose, how to administer Naloxone, Good Samaritan Law, and support information and resources.  Registration is requested.  Register to Taylor by (203) 736-2601 x5127, tquijano@bhcare.org or http://bit.ly/OrangeNarcan.

Save The Date!

Youth Services is hosting a Talent Show on Friday, April 26th, 2019.  The Talent Show will be for students 1st grade – 12th grade with talents including, but not limited to, singing, dancing, comedy, instrument playing, magic, band acts, and more!  More information to follow.  If interested, contact Jessica Simone at (203) 891-4785 or jsimone@orange-ct.gov.

Rock Painting Event

Come join us for our first youth Rock Painting Event!  Students in grades 4-6 are welcome to attend on Wednesday, March 20th from 4:30-6:00p.m. at High Plains Community Center.  All supplies will be provided at no cost.  An instructor will give a brief demonstration of different designs, such as mandalas, dot art, words of affirmation and more.  The rocks will be donated to our local rock garden at High Plains Community Center and to the Yale New Haven Children’s Hospital.  A snack will be provided.  If interested, please contact Jessica Simone at (203) 891-4785 to reserve a spot.
