Summer Concerts

Join us for 3 outdoor all ages shows in the Gazebo, for the Thursday night concerts from 6:30-8:30pm.  Come early for the Farmers’ Market!

  • July 13, 60’s Satisfaction; and
  • August 10, Fools on the Hill—Beatles Tribute Band

Senior Summer Picnic

This year’s Summer Picnic in the Pavilion will be held on Tuesday August 15, 5 to 8 pm. ,The Elderly Brothers will perform.  Tickets go on sale on June 1, only $15.  Thank you to the Orange Lions for cooking & serving over the years.

Ping Pong, Billiards, Bocce and Chess

Come join us for Ping Pong, Billiards, Bocce, and Chess.  Ping Pong plays Monday at 11:00 and Wednesday at 12:00.  Billiards meets Tuesdays and Thursday at 1:00, & Friday at 10:00.  Bocce meets Wednesdays at 10:00.  Chess plays Thursdays at 1:30.

Ice Cream Social

Join us as we celebrate summer with an ice cream social on Monday, July 17.  Kate Stone will entertain us.  Call to reserve a seat at (203) 891-4784.  Tickets are $5.  Limited to 80 people.

Kindness Rock Garden

The Orange Arts and Culture Council has partnered with Orange Community Services in creating a Kindness Rock Garden.  Join us in painting rocks with inspirational and motivational sayings Fridays at 1:00pm.  Dedication of the Kindness Rock Garden will be June 21—Summer Solstice.  So search for a rock you want to paint and bring your favorite quote and join us in creating some positive energy!  Let’s make Orange the “Kindness Town Around!”

Hot Lunch

The Orange Senior Center offers a lunch Monday through Thursday, 11:30am – 12:00pm.  A $3.00 donation is suggested for persons 60 years and over.  To register, call (203) 891-4765 before 1pm, the day before.

Friday Lunch

Friday lunches will be provided by various programs for seniors.  To register, call (203) 891-4765 the week before.

Cribbage Club

Join us on Mondays as the senior center and Assisted Living Services sponsor Cribbage Club Mondays from 1:00—3:00pm.  Mark Halliday of Assisted Living Services will instruct students on how to play cribbage for the first hour.  The second hour will be time to play.  Call (203) 891-4784 to reserve a seat!

AARP Smart Driving Course

The next AARP Driver’s Training course will be Thursday, June 1.  The cost of the “AARP Smart Driving Course” will be $15 for AARP members and $20 for non-members.  Call the center to sign up.

Wellness with Shop Rite

Shop Rite of Orange’s Registered Dietitian, Courtney Huggins, RD will lead a discussion will be on Picnic food with a dish to try on Monday, June 5 from 11:30-12:30pm.

Movie of the Month

Friday, June 16 “Founder”, 1:00pm.  The story of Ray Kroc, a salesman who turned two brothers’ innovative fast food eatery, McDonald’s, into one of the biggest restaurant businesses in the world with a combination of ambition, persistence, and ruthlessness.  Popcorn & soda to be served.  Call for a seat (203) 891-4784.

Maplewood Monday

iPhone & iPad Classes

Aubry Monahan has agreed to teach iPhone Beginners: May 15 through May 18 from 3-5.  iPhone & iPad Intermediate: May 22 through May 25 from 3-5.

BLOCK ISLAND no minimum trip July 25,  2017.  Sail the ferry to Block Island and spend the day enjoying this beautiful island.  Cost:  $131pp.  Includes transportation, lunch, ferry, & driver gratuities.  Full payment due at reservation.

THIMBLE ISLAND CRUISE August 9, 2017.  Thimble Island with lunch at the Chowder Pot.  You choose between Boston Baked Scrod, Chicken Picatta, or Eggplant Parmesan.  Cost: $50pp if you drive yourself (meet at the Chowder Pot), or $60pp if you take the Senior Center van. Includes lunch, cruise, & driver gratuities.  Full  payment due at reservation.

WHO LOVES YOU:  The Songs of Frankie Valli, at the Aqua Turf.  Share a bus, August 17, 2017.  The show consists of 4 handsome Broadway veterans recreating the music and stories of an era.  Enjoy family style, with salad, pasta, chicken parmargiana, salmon and more.  Cost:  $92pp.  Includes transportation, lunch, & driver gratuities.  Full payment due at reservation.

THE BOSTON POPS AT TANGLEWOOD: with special guest conductor John Williams.  No minimum, Saturday evening, August 19, 2017.  Our seats are located in the covered area of “The Shed”.  Dinner at either the Cork N’ Hearth of the Red Lion.  Cost: $147pp.  Includes transportation, Diner, reserved seat & driver gratuities.  Full  payment due at reservation.
