Orange Players Presents Threads

 The Orange Players has announced the performance of the original musical, Threads, based on the famous story, The Emperor’s New Clothes. Threads was written by Marian Drobish, Pat Miller and Linda Sobolewski, with original music by Ann Diers (additional music by Brad Blake). The play is produced by Joan Stenner, Peg Meisenhelder and Halina Slawsky. The Director is Pat Miller and Musical Director is Jim Teti.

Threads takes place in the Kingdom of Vogueland, whose Emperor is focused on being the best dressed monarch in the universe. There are lords and ladies, knights, designers, jesters—a full array of characters who bring the story and the music to life. Songs include “I Have a Passion for Fashion”, “Threads”, “The Funky Dragon” and more.

Twenty two actors from Orange and surrounding towns are playing leading and supporting roles. Cast members are Jen Berlin, Shannon Riccio, Cyndi Consoli, Ken Briodagh, Vicki Blake, Halina Slawsky, Mallie Massaro, Stan Alpert, Bruce Spiewak, Linda Martin, Emma McCarson, Ned Martin, Tony Enright, Alburt Burton, Paul Templeton, Bruce Murray, Carli Taylor Harlow, Matt Harlow, Brittany Homas, Thomas Homas, Florine Rochambeau, and Mary Alice Augur. Many of the actors have appeared previously with the Orange Players, Center Stage, the Ivoryton Playhouse, the Ansonia Renaissance Faire and various other area theatre groups.

Threads has music, humor, color and movement-something for everyone-young and old! Bring your children, grandchildren, friends and yourselves to this Orange artistic endeavor. It will play the first two weekends of November at High Plains Auditorium. Performance will be Friday, November 4th at 7:00 p.m., Saturday, November 5th at 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.; and Saturday, November 12th at 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Tickets can be reserved by calling the Orange Players Box Office at 475-227-7547.
