To the editor:
The Orange Historical Society would like to thank the community for its support of our spring fundraiser, Taste of the Past, which celebrated its 10th Anniversary this year. Over the years, area businesses have sponsored the event; others have donated gift baskets and gift cards. We have relied on the Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts and Youth Services Volunteer Program to help us with set-up. The Orange Congregational Church has generously allowed us to use its Community Room. Lastly, but most importantly, we thank area residents who return each year to enjoy, a homemade lunch, a Chinese Auction and a program in which an actor impersonates a historical figure. Funds from this event have enabled the Society to collect, research, interpret and preserve the history of Orange for future generations. The Orange Historical Society encourages all residents to consider becoming a member and to take advantage of events at our three buildings, the Stone-Otis House, the Academy and the Bryan-Andrew House.
