New Rector for the Church of the Good Shepherd

New Rector for the Church of the Good Shepherd

The Church of the Good Shepherd is excited to announce that The Rev. Diana Rogers recently accepted our call to serve as Priest-in-Charge. “I am very happy and excited to be called to the Church of the Good Shepherd here in Orange, and to join this Episcopal community of committed and welcoming Christians. Our mission is to participate at God’s direction in the healing of the world: to feed the hungry, clothe the naked, advocate for the poor and oppressed, and inspire the hopeless through thoughtful, loving worship and service,” expressed The Rev. Diana at one of her first services in early August.

The Rev. Rogers was born in Waynesboro, Pennsylvania and holds degrees from the Metropolitan State University in Saint Paul, Minnesota in Non-Profit Management and The General Seminary in New York City. Before graduating from seminary in 2008, Diana worked in a variety of management positions in the corporate world, including retail. Upon taking a job with the Bishop of Minnesota as the Director of Vocations in 2002, she recognized her calling and entered discernment for the priesthood. While in Minnesota, The Rev. Diana served as Interim Director at Christ Church (Austin, MN); Priest in Residence for young adults at St. Paul’s on the Hill; and facilitator for Prepare Enrich in the Twin Cities area. Most recently, Diana served as Rector for Church of Epiphany in Durham, Conn. Diana is a skilled facilitator, with a unique skill set in guiding groups in vision, mission statements and goal setting.

“All persons are welcome at Good Shepherd. Come and join us for services on Sunday or at any of our many activities throughout the week including our Wednesday morning bingo and free lunch at Shepherd’s Table, monthly healing services and prayer shawl knitters group, active youth ministry with monthly service projects, vibrant music program with choir and band, men’s club, book club and Bible study. Our busy autumn calendar can be accessed through our website”, invites The Rev. Diana.

The Church of the Good Shepherd is located on 680 Racebrook Road, Orange, Connecticut. Our worship service with Holy Eucharist, lively music, adult sermon and children’s conversation, followed by a lemonade gathering, begins every Sunday at 9.a.m. For more information, please call the Parish Office @ (203) 795-6577, email us @ thegoodspheherd@optonline.net, visit our website @ www.thegoodshepherdorangect.org, and of course, check our Facebook page for frequent postings.
