On Monday, January 24th the membership of Milford Yacht Club battled the cold and snow and elected its new 2016 officers. The officers are Commodore–Michael D. Amato, Vice Commodore–Kenneth Herbert, Rear Commodore–Robert Colum, Fleet Captain–Alan H. Liebnick, DDS, Treasurer–Bruce P. Kuryla and Secretary–Sarah Ferrante.
Founded in 1903, Milford Yacht Club, located at 131 Trumbull Avenue at the mouth of Milford Harbor, maintains the charm of an old fashioned boating club while providing modern amenities such as a full service restaurant, swimming pool and marina. Members and their guests enjoy coming in from a day of boating, then cooling off in the pool before relaxing on the deck with drinks before dinner. Often the clubhouse is jumping with the excitement of a weekend regatta or grooving to the live music on a Sunday afternoon. Whether you’re a sailor, power boater, a swimmer or a lounger–the club is every member’s home away from home. The setting is ideal for relaxation and fun. There are many activities throughout the year for all family members–young and old, such as Jimmy Buffett Nite, Mother’s Day Brunch, Family BBQs and Children’s Movie Night to name a few. Milford Yacht Club also offers a summer Jr. sailing program that teaches young sailors the essential elements of sailing and seamanship. It instills in them a respect for the sea and the value of teamwork in a fun and exciting atmosphere.
New for 2016, Milford Yacht Club is offering a new member initiative. For further information regarding membership, contact the office at either 203.783.0060 or email@example.com.
