Michael Nicholas Ferraro, age 81, of Orange and Bluffton SC, formerly of Bethany, passed away on Tuesday, July 21, 2015 in Milford Hospital. He was born on September 24, 1933 in Bridgeport to the late Nicholas and Mary Armentano Ferraro. An active member of the community, he had been the owner of the Gulf Station in Bridgeport, a past teamster and truck driver for McLean Trucking in Stratford and was past treasurer of teamsters local #191, retiree chapter.
Mr. Ferraro is survived by his loving wife, Elayne K. Stratz, sons Brian Ferraro of Bethany and Richard Ferraro of East Haven, daughter Michelle (Lawrence) Gore of Durham, granddaughter Alissa Ferraro of Westport and grandson Andrew Ferraro of Bethany. Besides his parents, he is predeceased by his sister Elaine Plasky.
A graveside service was held on July 24, 2015 in Orange Center Cemetery, Orange Center Road, Orange. Smith Funeral Home, 135 North Broad Street, Milford handled the arrangements.
