Helen Len Koziel recently celebrated her 100th birthday. A resident of Orange, Helen enjoys group swimming sessions and individual exercising at both the Orange Town Pool and at the Milford YMCA. The YMCA members hosted a party for Helen with a buffet, complete with home-baked items, balloons and singing children! At High Plains in Orange, Helen was surrounded by her pool and fitness center friends and staff as they all enjoyed a cake and coffee and candy celebration.
Helen volunteers at the Beth El Soup Kitchen in Milford. Her fellow volunteers,”The Soup Chic’s”, hosted a luncheon at Rainbow Gardens for Helen. A birthday cake at the Beth El facility was an additional surprise, shared by staff, Soup Chic’s, and clients. Helen was further honored by her neighbors when they attended Mass with her at St. Stanislaus Church in New Haven. A brunch at John Davenport’s in New Haven followed which included a special birthday program written and performed by the Ladies of the Lake.
The culmination of her birthday celebrations was a family brunch at Biagetti’s, hosted by Helen’s children, Joe and Joan Koziel of Florida and Vincent and Barbara Schmidt of Orange. Long-time friends and extended family members gathered to honor our matriarch, our hero, our inspiration…the always-smiling, forever positive, unconditional love-giving woman of a century: HELEN KOZIEL.
STOLAT….AND STOLAT again! We love you!!
