Haegan O’Rourke, a junior at Amity High School will be exhibiting his art at the Orange Town Hall during the month of December. Ever since he was young, he loved making his own mark on paper. He started, as most kids do, with finger paints, smelly markers and crayons provided by his mom. Although he has refined his techniques since then, he still likes to attack art with the same vigor and excitement that he had as a young child. Haegan has been fortunate enough to participate in a summer plein air watercolor workshop in southern Vermont for 3 years. This experience has widened his appreciation for the link between the environment and humans which he seeks to demonstrate in his works. In addition to the arts, Haegan also enjoys hiking, snowboarding and volunteering at the Connecticut Beardsley zoo. This is the first time his work has been displayed in a public setting and he hopes you enjoy!
