Girl Scout News in Orange – 9/30/22

It is September and a new year full of fun and adventure is starting.  You can email  Sarahrtr09@gmail.com or visit GSOFCT.org for more information.  For girls already involved, a “Bridging” is a ceremony honoring and celebrating their graduation to the next Girl Scout level.  The bridging is an important transition in a Girl Scout’s life as she becomes aware of her achievements and can get excited for the new opportunities she will be able to experience.  We had two troops be able to bridge this past week in our town.  Troop 60247 had 14 girl scouts move up from Brownie girl scouts to Juniors.  The ceremony was fun as well as sentimental with a flag ceremony, poem reading by troop leader Missy Parniawski, and the girl scouts crossing a physical bridge to receive their new green vests.  Older Girl scout troop 60274 moved up to Cadette level in a ceremony in the High Plains gymnasium with a symbolic ceremony that included crossing the bridge and receiving a silver key that acknowledges their next big step which will include working towards their Silver Award, the Second highest award of Girl Scouts of the USA.  Great job to all.
