Members of the Federated Garden Clubs of CT and other groups have again decorated the Osborne Homestead Museum in Derby for the holidays with a theme of nature’s helpers and pollinators. Each group was given a room to decorate with a different helper or pollinator. The Garden Club of Orange, under the direction of Diane Geary, decorated Eva Little’s bedroom and front bathroom with hummingbirds. Club members attended summer workshops and have created hummingbirds and flowers they pollinate from a rainbow of colorful papers. These delicate creations along with other festive decorations have been used to enhance the two rooms. The overall effect is a breathtaking midwinter splash of color.
The Osborne Homestead is now fully decorated and open to the public for Holiday Tours. Holiday Twilight Tours Friday, December 20 from 4 to 7PM. For more tour times and information regarding the museum visit its website at w ww.ct.gov/deep/.
