Friends of the Case Memorial Library Scholarship

Applications for the 2017 Lucy Scillia Scholarship are now available at the Case Memorial Library.  Given by The Friends of the Case Memorial Library, the $1000 scholarship is awarded annually to Orange resident who is a senior in any area high school and is planning to further his/her education in college.  The deadline for submitting applications is April 15th.

The Scillia Scholarship was created in memory of Lucy Scillia, longtime Friends member, Library Commission Member and Children’s Librarian dedicated to fostering the love of reading and learning.  She loved books and children, promoting reading for pleasure and knowledge to young and old throughout her life.

In addition to providing a scholarship, The Friends of the Library raises funds to support the Library, hosts special programming for adults and children, operates the semi annual fundraisers—The Great! Book Sales, provides volunteer opportunities, supports various educational organizations with book donations, and provides Museum Passes that allow families and individuals opportunities to enjoy a variety of educational attractions for free or at a discounted rate.
