Edina has been an Orange resident for 18 years where she and her husband, David, have raised their two daughters through the Amity School System. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Connecticut and a Master’s Degree from the University of Bridgeport. Edina has more than 25 years of experience as an administrator in higher education.
Oestreicher has served, since 2010, on the Board of Directors at Congregation Or Shalom and, since 2006, as a Trained Facilitator for the Anti-Defamation League of Connecticut. She is also a trained mediator through the Connecticut Mediation Center.
Having managed budgets of $2.5m+, she looks to bring her strong administrative and fiscal oversight skills to the Board of Finance. She wants enhanced transparency and fiscal responsibility and will bring a collaborative approach to the Board to ensure consensus on revenue and expenditure decision making. She will make sure we are not raising taxes to pad a Fund Balance that is already higher than it needs to be. She believes the Board has a responsibility to consider fund balance reserves thoughtfully and strategically to invest in one-time or irregular expenditures.
