The Wepawaug-CT Valley-West Rock Chapter of Hadassah will honor Dr. Sarah Blum, Chaplain at Yale New Haven Health-Yale New Haven Hospital-Saint Raphael Campus, for her dedication to the community, at the Sandi Adler Woman of Valor Luncheon on Sunday, April 22, 2018 at Birchwoods in Woodbridge, CT. Chaplain Sarah Blum received her Doctor of Ministry from Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion in New York. Chaplain Sarah provides a multi-faith approach to the psycho/spiritual/theological needs of patients and families. She also sits on the President Employee Advisory Council, Mutual Respect committee, Surgical Patient Experience. Chaplain Sarah is the Coordinator of Shawls of Comfort which gives hospitalized patients hand-crocheted shawls.
In Hadassah, Sarah has held many portfolios on the chapter level including President and served on the Hadassah Connecticut Region Board. At Congregation Or Shalom, Sarah was instrumental in raising funds to build classrooms for the Religious School and the acquisition and celebration of a new Torah.
The Luncheon is named for Sandi Adler, of blessed memory, a Woman of Valor who served as President of the chapter and of the Region, Hadassah Connecticut and was a dedicated member of Congregation Mishkan Israel.
