CT RiverHawks Squirt A Win State Title

The CT RiverHawks Squirt A youth hockey team defeated Watertown Squirt A in the Connecticut Hockey Conference (CHC) State Championship Tier III Tournament on Sunday,
February 28th at the Northford Ice Pavilion.

The CT RiverHawks went into the CHC State Tournament with an undefeated CHC league play record of 20-0. During the tournament weekend, the CT RiverHawks played the best Squirt Tier III teams in CT including CT Barons, Mid-Fairfield Jr. Rangers, WonderlandWizards, South Windsor Knights and Watertown Red Wings. Each game proving to be more difficult than the previous games, the CT RiverHawks never gave up and secured a spot in the Championship Game on Sunday. This would be the sixth hockey game for the team in four days. The Championship game vs Watertown on Sunday was evenly matched until the last few minutes of the game where the CT RiverHawks scored their fourth goal to take the win (final
score 4-3).

With this win, the Squirt A team has advanced to the New England District Regional Tournament in New Hampshire March 11-13, 2016.
