‘Craft Church’ Coming to New England Brewing Company

‘Craft Church’ Coming to New England Brewing Company

What do you get when you cross a local craft brewery with a reputation for excellence, and an Episcopal church who wants to get the word out that worshipping God can also be relaxed and fun?  The answer is ‘Craft Church’!  On Sunday, March 18th, The New England Brewing Company, located at 175 Amity Road in Woodbridge, is offering up their famous Tasting Room to church goers and spiritual seekers alike for a special Sunday night Service/event.

Doors will open up at 6:30 p.m. where guests will be treated to a variety of appetizers, sparkling cider, and two free samples of NEB’s latest creations on tap.  (For those over 21.)  At 7:00 p.m. a Eucharistic service, open to all, will occur around the bar, joined by a great live band, directed by Mr. Fabian Ortiz, of St. James Episcopal Church in New Haven.  Afterwards, stay and enjoy a class of craft beer (a portion of the sales will go to fight local hunger) meet some new friends, and/or try to stump the priest with questions about good and evil.

Why church in a brewery?  It’s simple really, because we remember that once upon a time, a carpenter came to earth to feed the hungry, talk with the spiritually curious, and console the heavy burdened.  And he did not ask for church membership or a particular code of conduct before he came.  He just came.  And, and He is coming still.  Curious?  Join us on the 18th.

This ecumenical church event is a collaboration of several Episcopal churches in Connecticut.  For more information please contact Fabian Ortiz at fabian.ortiz@stjamesnewhaven.org or New England Brewery’s Facebook page.
