Helping Hands Community Thrift Store & Furniture Bank and Columbus House, Inc. have partnered to make a difference in the fight to end homelessness.
For the past 33 years Columbus House has been serving people who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless by providing shelter and housing and by fostering their personal growth and independence. Each year Columbus House provides outreach, emergency shelter, housing, support services, and employment readiness to close to 3000 individuals, families with children, veterans, those with disabilities, and senior citizens. The agency’s goal is to help those experiencing homelessness move towards independence and a permanent home.
Columbus House is a preferred non-profit member of Helping Hands. When you donate your gently used furniture, clothing, housewares, and other items to benefit Columbus House a portion of the sales price goes to Columbus House. You can call 203-782-4800 to schedule a furniture or large item pick-up or you can drop off your donations at the Thrift Store which is located at 334 Boston Post Road in Orange.
