Hours

The Library’s hours are as follows:

  • Monday, Thursday: 10 a.m.-8 p.m.;
  • Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday: 10 a.m.-5 p.m.

Holiday Closings:  The Library will be closed on Monday, October 10 in observance of Columbus Day.

Program Fees:  Programs at the Case Memorial Library are free, except as noted for materials charges, and open to the public.

Registration:  Registration is required for all library programs, unless otherwise noted.  Register for events at casememoriallibrary.org/events.

Events For Children

Lapsit Storytime

Tuesday, October 11 & 25, 10:30 a.m.

Little ones and their caregivers are invited to explore books, sing songs, and practice interactive nursery rhymes with Ms. Angela!  Registration is required.

Toddler Storytime

Wednesday, October 12 & 26, 10:30 a.m.

Get the wiggles out with Ms. Angela!  Stories, music, dancing, and more fill this high-energy storytime for toddlers and their grownups.  Registration is required.

Preschool Storytime

Monday, October 17 & 24, 10:30 a.m.

Music, movement, and literacy for our preschool friends!  Join us as we get ready for the school years.  There will be a craft after the storytime session.  Registration is required.

Toddler Take & Make: Feed the Monster

Pickup dates: October 3-8

Supply glue. Registration is required. For toddlers and their grownups.

Create a fun toy for your toddler that will entertain them while they practice fine motor skills!  Turn an oatmeal canister into a feedable monster with a mouth and a see-through stomach.  Registration is required.

Preschool Take & Make: Fuzzy Monsters

Pickup dates: October 11-17

For children ages 3-5.

Take a monster, give them a face, and then add some fuzzy decorations!  Participants will need to supply glue and crayons.  Registration is required.

Children’s Take & Make: Pinecone Mummies

Pickup dates: October 17-22

For children in grades 1-3.

Make a Halloween decoration with a pinecone, felt, and googly eyes!  Participants will need to

Tween Reads: Fantastic Fantasy

Pickup dates: October 24-30

For tweens in grades 4-6.

Get in the Halloween spirit with a book of fantasy, as scary (or not) as you like!  We’ll check you out a book based on your interests, and you’ll get to keep some goodies inside the bag.  Registration is required.

Events For Teens & Adults

Take & Make Craft Kit: Morse Code Bracelets

Pickup dates: October 3-8

For adults and teens in grades 7-12.

Use Morse code to personalize a beaded bracelet with a name, inspirational word, or secret code!  Registration is required.

Take & Make Kit: Halloween Treat Bags

Pickup dates: October 11-17

For adults to craft for their little ones.

Create a Halloween tote bag for the child in your life.  Choose your design and pick up your kit to make your project at home or book an appointment to use the Library’s new Cricut Easy Press to complete your iron-on transfer.  Please note this craft is intended to be completed by an adult for a child.  Registration is required.

Mystery Book Discussion Group

Thursday, October 13, 1 p.m.

Join librarian Samantha Jasulavic for a discussion of The Maid by Jean Nina Prose.  This program will be held in the Meeting Room at the Library.  Registration is required.

Cricut Class: Haunted House Lanterns

Wednesday, October 12, 3 p.m.

For adults and teens in grades 7-12.

The library has a new Cricut machine!  Learn to use our Cricut Maker 3 and complete your own haunted house lantern to take home.  Space is limited.  Registration is required.

Book Boxes

October pickup dates: October 17-22

November pickup dates: November 21-28

For adults and teens in grades 7-12.

Our free monthly book box service!  Each month that you register you will pick up a box containing two books selected by our librarians based on your reading preferences for you to borrow as well as some treats and others surprises for you to keep.  Space is limited.  Registration is required and begins on the first of the month for each box.

Murder Mystery Kit

Pickup dates: October 17-22

For adults and teens in grades 7-12.

It’s the library’s 100-year celebration and everyone is having fun and enjoying each other’s company until a scream echoes throughout the building.  A death has just occurred.  Can you discern which suspects are telling the truth and which are hiding something?  And is that something murder?!  Take home this murder mystery kit and find out!  Registration is required.

Teen Halloween Treasure Hunt

Saturday, October 22, 2 p.m.

For teens in grades 7-12.

Teams will solve riddles that lead to the next clue in our Halloween-themed library treasure hunt for teens.  Solve spooky puzzles that will lead to our Halloween candy bar!  If you don’t have a team don’t worry – we will pair you up!  Registration is required.
