My name is Carla Imperati Eichler, and I grew up in Orange. I went through Orange and Amity school districts, graduating from Amity in 1995.
I attended the UCONN. I began my career as a broadcast graphic designer. I chose to switch careers because I wanted to work with students and make a positive impact. I currently teach Animation and Design at Staples High School. In my 13 years of teaching, I have taken on leadership and committee roles, and have written curriculum. I teach a curriculum which merges the use of cutting edge technology with sophisticated creative thinking and fine art concepts.
Teaching in a high performing school district, I understand the dynamics and values of stellar schools. My highest priority is supporting students. I want to help ensure that our students have excellent resources, technology, and curriculum to thrive. We need to prepare our students with skills like creative problem solving, adaptability, and social-emotional intelligence. I understand that our community values our schools, and our schools are why many new families choose Orange.
My husband, Jim, and I moved to Orange in 2011 and our two daughters attend Race Brook School.
