Are You Interested in Volunteering?

Catchment Area Council 6 is looking for volunteers who reside in Orange, Milford and West Haven that are interested in Mental Health issues. What is a Catchment Area Council? The Catchment Area Councils are local groups that advocate, study, review and make recommendations regarding Mental Health programs in their “Catchment”. Catchment Area 6 includes Orange, Milford and West Haven. The group usually meets monthly to discuss current issues and concerns about Mental Health. Information is shared, passed on to the Regional Mental Health Boards which reports findings to the State Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services. The group also works toward decreasing stigma, increasing awareness of early detection and prevention, through local community events and forums. Members of the Councils include representatives from local mental health providers, community organizations, family members of those with mental health issues, persons who utilize mental health services and anyone who has an interest in mental health.

For more information or if you have an interest in joining please contact: Joan Cretella Director of Orange Community Services at 203-891-4786 or e-mail jcretella@orange-ct.gov.
