On Friday, October 23rd, Anne-Marie Brungard Knight from the Anti-Defamation League came to Amity Middle School in Orange to give a presentation to seventh grade students about how to be an ally in the fight against mean behavior and bullying in school. Using video clips of other middle schoolers talking about their experiences with mean behavior Anne-Marie led students in a discussion about the negative impact that mean behavior can have on others. She shared specific strategies that students can employ in situations where they witness, or are the target of, mean behavior.
Anne-Marie will return to Amity Middle School in Orange again for a small-group workshop with students who have either volunteered or have been nominated by their teachers to participate.
