Angela McNabola, who is running for the Board of Selectmen, has a diverse skill set that makes her an excellent candidate for this seat. As a College Adjunct professor and mother of two, she fully understands the power and importance of a strong education system beginning with Pre-K and kindergarten through high school. She has also served on the Amity Board of Education from 2007-2011.
As a proven leader working in pharmaceutical and healthcare companies, she has held multiple positions where she has had to make difficult decisions that are not only in the best interest of the employee and the patient, but fiscally sound and thought through decisions for the corporation. She also understands, the work and life balance that all parents face.
Finally, as the sole overseer of her elderly dad’s physical and financial care, she understands all the challenges that face our seniors, including tax increases on a fixed income, as well as managing the costs for prescriptions and medical care.
Angela was a Research Scientist for Bayer Pharmaceuticals that eventually led her to the position of Laboratory Director within the Yale New Haven Health System.
She currently teaches in the histologic program at Goodwin College and is a TSA Laboratory Manager for Labcorp, nationwide. She is the current President for the Connecticut Society for Histotechnology and is the Health and Safety Chair for the National Society for Histotechnology, where she gives regular presentations and workshops.
Angela prides herself in giving back to her community and hopes to promote this as a Selectman. She was a co-girl scout leader from 2011-2014 and has actively organized charity events such as the “Meatball Challenge” which had raised funding for the Hole in the Wall Gang Camp.
Angela received her Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacology and Toxicology from the Philadelphia College of Pharmacy and Science at the University of the Sciences in Philadelphia and her Master’s Degree in Laboratory Biomedical Sciences from Quinnipiac University.
Angela enjoys spending lots of time with her family and being both a Hockey and a Baseball Mom for her two children, Caroline (17) and John (15).
