Now in its eighth summer, the Award winning Amity Performing Arts Department is offering two incredible camp opportunities for young people this summer. The Amity Summer Theater Camp under the direction of Rob and Andrea Kennedy, features classes in singing, dancing and acting.
The camp will end in a performance of songs of “Fantasy”. Rob and Andrea Kennedy, the award winning directors of Tarzan, In the Heights and Legally Blonde and their staff of theater counselors will fill the summer with music, dancing and fun. The camp is open to students grade two through high school, and is designed to teach students voice, dance and acting skills; give them performance experience; ignite their creative spirit; build a sense of accomplishment, build community and encourage them to have fun! The camp culminates in a full production where all of the students participate. All skill levels are welcome.
Returning for its second exciting year is the Amity Instrumental Summer Camp. Award winning band director and orchestra conductor Phil Dolan designed this camp for all skill levels, from the beginner who wants to learn how to play an instrument to the advanced player that wants to get better. Daily lessons in music and performance will lead up to a final camp production. A great experience for all budding musicians! Instrument rental is also available to those who require it.
Both camps will include a camp t-shirt and lots of fun activities like: Wacky Wednesday, the Ice Cream Extravaganza, Friday Share Days, the camp Olympics and much more!
