The Orange Historical Society, in conjunction with Pat Lovelace of the Guilford Keeping Society, held a three-day American Girl Doll camp at the Stone-Otis House
recently. The 13 girls each brought their own dolls and in some cases more than 4 and were treated to stories about the dolls, their hobbies, crafts of the day, history
around their time and food people would have eaten. Jan Clarke, Lea Turner and Ginny Reinhard helped Miss Lovelace as she brought the girls a myriad of crafts to
make that were associated with the stories of many of the dolls in attendance.
One of the many highlights was the collection of doll clothes that Pat placed on a table for the girls to dress their dolls with a new outfit and have a fashion show. With the enthusiasm of the camp, OHS will be planning another one next year.
