James South, a Texas-based veteran, turns 100 on October 7th, and he is hoping to receive 100 birthday cards to celebrate his birthday. James is a World War II veteran who joined the Army in 1940 and was deployed to Normandy just days after D-Day. For James there is nothing better than a handwritten sentiment, and WOW did Amity Middle School in Orange deliver – sending 117 cards! His family has a three-day celebration planned for him, which includes playing golf and eating chicken fried steak and catfish. Let’s all celebrate James for the sacrifices he has made for our country and for being 100 years young!
